After completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter, a traineeship as a draughtsman and an internship in Paris, Hans Eichenberger opened his own studio for interior architecture and design in Bern. This was followed by various furnishing commissions and joint projects in Switzerland and abroad with the architecture group Atelier 5. Along the way, the Bernese designer created furniture for various Swiss manufacturers such as Dietiker, de Sede and WOGG. His oeuvre, which includes more than 35 chairs and armchairs, has won numerous awards in Switzerland and abroad - some of his furniture can also be found in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Designed in 1952, the garden chair made of bent fibreglass and hot-dip galvanized tubular steel is also known as the Expo chair. The chairs are in beautiful vintage condition.
